This project involved the construction of a fully-commissioned 475 metre secant-piled perimeter 13,500m² two-storey basement car park (two thirds of which was below the high water table of the River Thames) incorporating in-situ reinforced slabs up to 1500mm thick on 390 large diameter piles (up to 2500mm) installed into London Clay to a depth of 38 metres. The basement (and associated drainage up to 450mm in diameter) was completed in 50 weeks, with partial handover at 30 weeks to allow construction of the superstructures to begin.
