Sustainable Modular Homes

On 4th December 2017, the next set of engineered modular homes were delivered to our site, Craylands, Basildon. CLT; Cross Laminated Timber is the material used to build the houses in the warehouse owned by Swan Housing whilst Kaybridge workforce was progressing with the groundworks.

CLT is a sustainable construction material which utilities soft wood timber grown in managed forests. Although it is soft wood it is tough and very long lasting and is being used throughout Europe and USA to construct similar homes.

When complete the homes will be indistinguishable from traditionally built homes; they will be greener and more sustainable (including cheaper to heat). Using an online configurator, buyers are able to design their new home from the very start. This includes the bedrooms, stairs, layout and the specification.
